Warehouse Manager Cover Letter

July 26, 2011

Dear Hiring Manager:

How many times do resumes cross your desk from individuals who have extensive warehouse experience plus mail-handling experience? I imagine not a lot. So I hope you will review my material and consider my interest in an appropriate position with your organization.

I gained the bulk of my experience during seven years of service in the military, much of which was as a Supply/Warehouse Manager. Not only did I keep track of 10,000 parts in a 10,000-square-foot depot, but I also coordinated repair requests for equipment and vehicles, processing about 300 work orders per day. Additionally, I have been trained in hazardous materials handling, manual and computerized inventory control, and overall warehouse management. Since I left the military in 1999, I have been a Mail Carrier. One of my periodic assignments is to reduce the accumulation of mail that has been designated nondeliverable. It takes research and perseverance, but eventually I whittle down the pile.

My experience in the military cultivated a strong work ethic and helped me develop many personal skills, not the least of which are organization and communication. In fact, my superior officer commended me for my efficient and accurate methods. I have no problems delegating and supervising others.

I will soon be joining my husband in our new home in Cedar Rapids, and I am eager to begin working in the area. If you believe my skills match your needs, I would appreciate a telephone call to discuss employment opportunities. Of course I can make arrangements to be available for an in-person interview as well. Thank you for your time and consideration.
